VETERAN BANNERS FOR GREENWOOD COMMITTEE

The Star Fort Chapter has leaded an effort to place banners with veteran photos on city lamp posts for Veterans Day 2024. The committee, pictured, has been meeting to coordinate this effort. Terry has been in contact with city officials, and they are onboard with the project. They are not going to charge us, and they are going to put them up and take them down. Check out the Index Journal for more information. Applications are available on the Greenwood city website

Paper applications are located at the Greenwood County Veterans Center (see Roslyn Burke) and the Arts Center located in the old Federal Building. To have a banner hung by Veterans Day, applications must be submitted by Aug. 15.
