Tranquility Point hosted a lunch for Star Fort MOAA. Members enjoyed a catered BBQ and many wonderful side dishes. The weather was perfect and members enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere along the shores of hidden lake on Lake Greenwood. Our very own Joe Como was comforted by Boots, the official Tranquility Point therapy cat. We began the day with work on the “Light unto the Darkness” project. Terry, Barry and Mike placed pavers creating a firepit area where guests can sit and enjoy peer to peer talks. This area was made possible by a National MOAA grant which covered the cost of materials while MOAA members and other veterans and volunteers provided the labor. We are proud to declare this project complete and we’ve already enjoyed sitting around campfires with fellow veteran guests. And as nature has now provided an infinite supply of brush and wood, there will be many more campfires bringing light into the darkness for many more veterans.
