William, Bill, Stoessel, LTC, USAF departed on his final flight May 3, 2024. Bill attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. He later distinguished himself in the United States Air Force, serving with the 701st and 707th Air Lift Squadrons ultimately achieving the rank of LT Colonel. His military career spanned five wars, reflecting his unwavering commitment to duty and honor. He recently celebrated 25 years at Delta, achieving his Captain status. Bill was also a Homeland Security Flight Deck Officer.
He attended St Paul Methodist Church in Ninety Six, SC. Bill leaves behind his mother, Valerie Stoessel; four devoted siblings, 6 loving nieces and his life partner, Glenda.

Star Fort Chapter members helped to celebrate Bill's remarkable life on Saturday, June 8, 2024, with a final salute. Members attending were COL Mike Coleman, LTC Jim Morgan, COL George McKinney II, COL Art Wallace and LTC Joe Roberts.

Bill’s final resting place will be Arlington Cemetery. “Wishing you clear skies and a strong tail wind Flyboy.”
