Colonel (Ret) Claude Schmid, USA from the Last Patrol had a presentation about what the Last Patrol does for veterans in hospice or at home end of life care. He talked about the HONOR CEREMONY LAST PATROL,

OPERATION HOLIDAY SALUTE and finally the “OPERATION HOLIDAY SALUTE-CHRISTMAS PARADE”. He talked about the influence his mother had on him volunteering to care for a friend in hospice and how this influence him when he started Last Patrol. On one of his last active duty assignments, he accompanied wounded service members and sometimes they were with their family. His question to them was why did they serve. The answers were many times the same reasons. He used the word HEART to describe the reasons he was given. Here they are H- Honor, E – Excitement, A – Adventure, R – Rapport and T - Tradition
