      Treasurer
      Bill Egge Lt Col USAF Ret.

      William L. Egge enlisted in the US Air Force in 1967.  Bill started his military career as a radar technician for F-102 and F-4E aircraft in Germany.  His next assignment was as a television equipment technician at Titan II missile sites in Arkansas.  In 1976, Bill received a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems at Florida State University and earned his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant with an assignment to HQ TAC as an AWACS computer systems analyst.  Bill’s career moved laterally as he became an AWACS weapons controller and then senior director.  Subsequent assignments included working as an AWACS logistician and NATO AWACS Force Command requirements officer.

      In 1988 Bill married Major Joyce Chamberlain. Bill was tasked with preparing the Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC) logistics command and control concept of operations, which was successfully implemented during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm operations.  He was then selected as the AFLC Assistant Chief Scientist/Engineer.  In 1991, Bill was selected as the Command-Sponsored Research Fellow to attend the Center for Aerospace Doctrine and Education (CADRE) where he researched and authored a book on “The Logistics Implications of Composite Wings.

      In 1992 Bill was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and assigned as commander of the San Antonio Air Logistics Center communications-computer systems group at Kelly AFB, Texas.  In 1994 Bill earned a Master of Arts degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University.  Bill’s last military assignment was as Chief of NORAD Software Production at Tyndall AFB, Florida.  In 1995 Bill retired after 28 years of military service.

      In August 1995, Bill attended Florida State University School of Law and graduated in December 1997.  After one year of prosecuting capital murder cases in Tallahassee, Florida, Bill and his wife moved to New Hampshire.  Bill then worked as an attorney in private practice primarily providing criminal defense services.In June 2014, Bill retired from the criminal defense business and moved with his wife to Aiken, South Carolina.  Bill has been the treasurer for the MOAA South Carolina Council of Chapters since January 2018.
