Council Officers

      VP SC State Legisiative Affairs
      Jimmy Foley Capt USMC Former

      Jimmy commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from Officer Candidate School (OCS) in 2015. After graduating from The Basic School, he reported to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms to attend Basic Communications Officers Course (BCOC). After completing BCOC, he reported to 2d Marine Division, where he served as the Battalion Communications officer for 2d Battalion 8th Marines. Jimmy deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan and then with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, as the Battalion Landing Team Communications Officer. He was then stationed at Marine Forces Cyberspace Command in Fort Meade Maryland where he served as the Enterprise Operations Officer, and the Aide De Camp to the Commanding General.

      After over seven years of active-duty service in the Marine Corps, Jimmy made the decision to pursue a career in the financial services industry as a Financial Advisor working for Janney Montgomery Scott in Columbia, SC, while continuing to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves. Jimmy holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri. He met his wife, Jillian, shortly before joining the Marine Corps, and they married in 2018. They have one son, Michael. Jimmy is a member of the Marine Corps League- Detachment 939, a member of the Columbia Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), the South Carolina Veterans Coalition, and has volunteered for the Our Community Salutes - Midlands SC Chapter. He currently serves as the Vice President for Legislative Affairs for the MOAA
